Epic PoetryEpic An epic is a long narrative poem (one which tells a story) chronicling the adventures and achievements of a hero, who is made to seem larger than life. Epics deal with mythological or historical traditions. One familiar example is Homer’s Odyssey, which tells of the journeys and conquests of Odysseus, and includes the ancient Greek setting mythological characters of the world of gods and goddesses. |
